I am an Olympics fan.

Love watching the competition, the good sportsmanship, the human interest stories, and of course the ceremonies.

Friday's opening ceremonies (which I watched live during the morning here on the east coast) were okay, but not particularly a stand out thanks to Covid and the political analysis from NBC (since Russia is poised to invade the Ukraine at any moment).

This is the second Olympics event under Covid, and the second set in Asia, and it just feels like things are "stuck", which is entirely due to the 2020 Summer Games being delayed by the pandemic.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to cheering for those Olympians delegations from the unexpected places... yes, I'm talking about Jamaican bobsledders and Eddie the Eagle types.

I need some new heroes.

Not going to watch much again this time around, it’s kind of becoming a farce at this point.

Just the Olympics in general, is out of touch, such a waste of money for hosts regions. When the Olympics was here in Vancouver in 2010, it cost over $10 billion just for security! We are still paying for it 12 years later. I don’t even want to think about how much it would cost now, and we are pushing for 2028 bid.

Yeah, screw the Olympics. I'm not going to watch a single event, and I don't care who wins.

I have to be honest and say that I haven't seen a single game so far.
Although I love to watch winter games, I just can't find any free time
