I'm having difficulty getting my Dell multifunction printer to work with OS X. I haven't been able to find any Dell drivers for OS X, thus I'd like to know

a. If any drivers exist? (links would be helpful)
b. If no drivers exist, is there another way to get the printer to work with my 10.4.3 PB?

Thanks...

Dell makes printers?

In any case, multifunction devices are usually poorly-engineered, both in terms of hardware and software (firmware and drivers), though I've made decent experiences with the Lexmark X1100 series; incidentally, there's a decent Mac driver for that too.

Can you see the printer in the Printer & Fax system preferences?

I bet it's just re-branded with HP or Canon or Lexmark internals. Find the match and you'll probably find working drivers for, at least, the printing functionality.

Ah, yes. I think Dell has a re-branding deal with HP.

JK47, what exact model are we talking about?

Thanks. Basic printing's all I need at the moment. For the record, my HP (which works beautifully) is back at school, and I'm stuck with the Dell printer till mid Jan.

FYI: My searches say that that appears to be a re-branded Lexmark 1150.

Yea they do if you count re branding and selling proprietary ink cartridges. I personally wouldn't buy one, many of them are lexmarks and i have never been impressed by lexmark. If it's crap in beige why would black plastic make it better you know? I'm kinda surprised anyone is selling these things to dell to rebrand

Comic sans sucks.
That is all
