Looking for suggestions on how to have the system's "Movies" folder list videos from an external volume.
I'm using a 250GB OWC external hard drive for my new dual core Mac Mini. I've set up the directories on the volume and moved the media files there, but FrontRow does not find them, and they are not visible inside "Movies". Would be willing to go in either of the following directions... a) Is it possible to move the system's Movies folder to the external drive? b) Or, can anyone suggest a script that automagically creates aliases and puts them in the Movies folder? Thanks. |

Or, you could just replace your Movies folder with a link to the other one... get all of it at one shot.

Is it as simple as creating an alias and dragging it into the Users/me folder, and left pane of the directly browser window? I thought there were system settings that have to be tweaked. |

Yes it is that simple. I put an alias of the external movie folder in the Movies folder and it works like a charm.
One thing, in Front Row, when you select Movies you have to go one folder deeper to get the actual files ot be listed. |
