So i'm sleeping, having a dream of someone pounding on my door. Except it wasn't a dream. I realized someone was desperately pounding the shit out of my apartment door so i got up and was about ready to punch someone in the face.
Except it was a cop when i opened the door. He said, "do you guys have somewhere you can go? We have a situation out here." The vagueness of this statement was my 2nd inclination that some real shit was going on not too far from me. So i figured i'd just go to my girlfriend's place since she lives in the same complex. I packed up all my crap, walked out the door, and what do i see? I see 4 cops, with those riot shields and another with his gun pointed at the door right fucking next to mine. My roommate and I just walked the other way towards my girlfriend's, and now i'm up because i'm so curious as to WTF happened that i can't go back to sleep. |

Imagine if you had punched the cop. Then they'd have two 'situations' to deal with!

Cool. Stuff like that only ever happens in the movies.
The most exciting that's ever happened to me was witnessing a house on fire. Just yesterday, as a matter of fact. It was blazing. I drove by last night and it was completely burned to the ground. But it didn't even make the evening news or the paper. MB, your situation is much more exciting. Keep us posted! If it's not red and showing substantial musculature, you're wearing it wrong. |

I just got out of there. That was tough. I can't believe I got MBHockey's address wrong by ONE FRIGGIN DOOR. Damn. I just got down here yesterday, he sent me a PM that kind of pissed me off, and I wasn't going to let it go unpunished. See you tonight, bitch. |

I had a similar scare like that this morning, but instead of it being the cops, I woke up from being passed out drunk on my floor to find Rocky 1 blairing 2 feet from my head.

Yah of course, you must've pissed Murbot off too. Ohio is on the way back to Alberta from NY, so he probably stopped in and clubbed you over the head while you were drinking. Is there a big "pwned" tattoo scribbled on your forehead in permanent marker?

I'd just like to say this has nothing to do with me, I wasn't there, my alibi is rock solid.
I'd have thought a simple drug bust was the most likely explanation. A woman caught fire in the park across the road from where I live a couple of weeks back. Fortunately, I didn't see it. Just the aftermath. You can see where she was when she's gone up. Shoes burnt off her feet before she's started running. Burn "prints" for about 20 metres and then another big burnt area where she started rolling. One of those situations where the fight/flight response really lets you down. A friend saw it and was one of the first on the scene. Road service dude put her out with a fire extinguisher. Didn't even make the news but the remaining evidence suggested the outcome wasn't terribly positive. Seems she was a homeless person who had lit a camp fire but one of her fuel cans had a hole in it. Plus it must have been at least 30 degrees C the day it happened. Very weird shit. The way all her burnt make up and bits and pieces have been left lying there is heartbreaking.
