You know why the MotoX sucks balls? Because they don't cut their glass with Particle Acclerators.

I hear the next iPhone will be made at Fermilab (you didn't think they were just going to throw the Tevatron away, did you?

I know your post was tongue in cheek, but it brings up a point. Cool as these manufacturing techniques are, they're largely irrelevant if a phone doesn't meet your feature requirements. I have recently played with a friend's N5 and it's a solid feeling plastic phone. I love the soft-touch finish on the back and wish the 5C went that route instead of the candy-coating. The other hardware manufacturers might use more conventional fabrication processes, but they are still making quality products.

Is it wrong of me to want a particle accelerator now?

Just nip down to the local Science Store and get one then.

Unfortunately, I can only re-write the genome of bacteria, cultured mammalian cell lines, and plants, but the local Science Store is all out of particle accelerators.

(Actually, its rather straightforward to build a small accelerator, however I think the unshielded variety wreak havoc on radio communications, and I love my internet connection too much to try)
