According to this article from the NYT the WiFi reception on the MB is better than the MPB because of the aluminum vs plastic case.
Anyone lucky enough to own both notice this? Link to the article... http://www.nytimes.com/packages/html.../circuits.html |

It was exactly the same with the iBook vs. PowerBook. I had a roommate who could pick up the neighbor's reception, but I couldn't and had to sit outside if I wanted internet. Funny thing that I will never understand though. You'd think that for an extra $1000+ that Apple would include a nicer antenna.

No.. though I will say his argument that the plastic vs. the aluminum doesn't stack up when comparing my old iBook against my new MBP. They both seem to work just fine, and about equally in my home (which is a wild and unwieldy environment for wireless; a pretty good testing ground).

The sides of the powerbook were made of plastic for that reason.
