Hi Everyone,

I am going to be buying a new laptop for use in business school and was wondering if anyone has bought a MacBook or MacBook Pro and is using it in business school (for an MBA). I know there are programs that only work on PC like Crystal Ball that are necessary for business school. Is anyone using these programs in Windows on a MacBook or MacBook Pro via Boot Camp or Parallels, and if so how well do they run? Any problems? Any reason why I should rethink about buying a Mac for business school?

Thanks.

I'm not using my MB in business school, but Parallels is more than sufficient to run anything but high end games. If that's not good enough for you, Boot Camp will give you a very very good windows computer too. There's absolutely no reason to second guess getting a mac unless you like dealing with windows.

If you buy the Mac Book Pro though for school, people will question your business sense.

Thing's too pricey for what it brings to the table IMO.

Boot Camp is windows, so unless they require you have something plug into a serial port, you'll be just fine.

Google is your frenemy.

The Mac makes sense, as torifile says (no, torifile, for the THOUSANDTH TIME, I will not make out with you).

Parallels is adequate for just about anything, and if you need something that uses your GPU, you can do it with Bootcamp. If you do need anything that uses a GPU, you'd need to run Bootcamp and get a MacBook Pro, as the MacBook has very limited capabilities in that department.
