Hi everybody!
I'm new to this forum but I thought this could be the right place to ask a couple of questions regarding the use of external firewire drives as scratch disks on Final Cut Pro (5). I have a powerbook G4 (1,67Ghz), 100gb HD and 1gb ram, running Final Cut Pro 5. I have to say I'm pretty happy with the way my powerbook handles the software, though I haven't tried using HDV yet (only standard DV). Although my 100 GB disk is pretty good for editing shorts and music videos, I have been hired to edit a 30 minutes documentary and I'm afraid I'll need more space. Can I plug an external firewire drive (320 gb) to the powerbook and use it as a scratch disk? Or can I use the firewire drive to store all the files for the projects after capturing them on the main HD of the powerbook? If so, which files/folder should I move? Thanks very much for any help you could give me Ciao F. |
