the theme song to this show has been stuck in my head for the past 5 minutes. does anybody else here love this show?? are the reruns still being shown on tv or am i stuck with having to watch them on tape/dvd??

edit: i know that they played some Mike episodes on Sci-Fi channel, but i think they stopped, plus i don't get that channel anymore so i don't know.

edit 2: while channel surfing i found out i DO have Sci-Fi. cable company moved it to a higher channel than my tv could recieve for a while and i guess they put it back down

go to a good science fiction convention and find the video room - there's a good chance they'll play an episode or two at night and the crowd will participate....

awesome show! I just signed up for Netflix so that I could watch them. None of the movie stores around here carry them (and I can't afford to buy the box sets yet).

Did anyone ever see the episode where the movie was "Girls Town"? I love that one! The movie stars Paul Anka and Mel Torme. Very funny. Unfortunately, they don't seem to have put that one out on DVD yet.

I was always bothered by the fact I think they put their silhouettes on the screen backwards.

That was the second episode I saw. The first had something to with a giant Godzilla-like creature and its deadly "rainbow attack" (a rainbow came out of its back and blew stuff up).

When I was a kid, people who did wrong were punished, restricted, and forbidden. Now, when someone does wrong, all of the rest of us are punished, restricted, and forbidden... and the one who did the wrong is counselled and "understood" and fed ice cream.

Nope - just a parallax optical illusion that made it look that way to some people. I could trick myself into making it look like that and reverse it at will - it's like one of those illusions where you're either looking straight down at the peak of a pyramid or straight down at the bottom of a pyramid shaped pit.

I have all of the episodes - all the DVDs currently released, plus VCR tapes of the ones that aren't. Including the days back when they were on a local Minneapolis channel, there are a LOT of episodes!

I luurve MST3K, miss it much. Sci-Fi didn't renew their contract a few years ago, and the crew has moved on. Go to www.mst3kinfo.com for what's up with those guys now as well as news about the DVD releases and such. I think Joel is working on the Jimmy Kimmel show now.

The Girls Town episode was great. One of the female leads reminded me of an ex-girlfriend too (which apparently impressed my friends). I want that one on DVD as well as the Batwomen episode, the one where Tom Servo screams, "End! Eeeeeeeeend!" right at the climax of the film. There a short on grooming that hit close to home too, I think it's on the second "best of" volume. I was going to Cornell when I saw that episode, and we recognized the backgrounds. My friend did a little homework, asked Uncle Ezra, and, indeed the short was filmed on the campus in the 40's. That one holds a special place in my heart.

I always though it was funny to see Mike's microphone and his reading glasses at times in silhouette.

The Wild Wild Wild World of Batwoman was released on DVD a couple of years ago - before they were doing the DVD box sets and just releasing one at a time. I don't know if it's still readily available, but I bet you can eBay it...

[EDIT}Here it is: at Amazon.

One of my favorite MST3k shows was "Mitchell".

"You guys watch Joe Don Baker movies?"

Edit: ...and of course the short "Mr. B Natural".

"Manos", The Hand of Fate and short Johnny at the Fair were the best.

I had every Joel episode and some Mike episodes on VHS (except early local shows) and sold them a few years ago for $50. (?!) I still miss them.

My favorite MST3K episode wasn't even an official one - it's a fan version doing a film that MST3K could *NEVER* have done.

Star Trek V.

It's *PERFECT*. Dead frickin' on, and I treasure my copy.

Amazon.com and all the usual online retailers have a bunch of them. There are 7 box sets (8 if you count "The Essentials") and a number of individual episodes.

i watched my newly aquired copy for the first time recently. the short about cheating before the movie made more sense and was better than the actual movie, which isn't really saying much
