You don't think Intel just stopped making Celerons do you ? Of course they do, and they will continue to do so as long as there is a market for them. Currently all the cheap Dells use Celeron M's at 1.4Ghz.

And how does having newer chips available make old chips less cost effective ? I think the reverse is true.

But I don't think Apple would go with a Celeron either. The Pentium M is an great chip and I'm sure the prices on it have already started to come down.

If they go ahead and put something newer in minis and ibooks, and keep the price points the same or less, well thats just awesome.
