alright... i got it. i'm sure many of you out there have 'gotten' it too, but it hasn't been fully said yet, so i'm gonna lay it out. everyone read about 'mobile me'. everyone read about 'sensing lcd screen'. speculation abounds about the 'new ipod', the 'redesigned ibook', the fact that apple is a company, and macintosh is a brand. well, how about this. a new brand, under apple, not macintosh. it's a mac product for sure, but it's under a new name altogether. and here's the product -
rolo talked about the 2001 reference to objects '1X4X7' (or was it 9) hurtling towards the earth. his predictions about the mac media seem to be right on, judging by speculation. so ok, he heard something. let's put it together ourselves. several versions. first, the flagship. a new, mobile computer. it's all screen. it looks like the ipod, but no more wheel thingy. another article described it as 'robust', another even 'like a tablet'. it's a freakin' 1 inch by 4 inch by 7 inch ipod thingy. it has sirius sattelite radio (upon subscription) - all options are managed through .mac and on the web. this thing is on a wireless network with it's own account. you use it as a phone, as a pda, as a personal computer. it has a sensing screen. you can scan documents with it, you can write on it and store the writing in the handwriting you wrote with. this is a product aimed at the mass market. you can use applications like adobe's "lightbox" (just announced) on it for photographers. they can use it LIKE A LIGHTBOX. look at "negatives" on a larger screen with tons of storage capacity. you can download add - ons and use it as a mixer. you can scratch records on it. dj's, photogs, it has universal connector add ons so it can be a guitar pedal, fax machine, internet station, phone, porn device, gps, map quest for the car, it can download shit and even keep tabs on your car's status. the big thing is bluetooth. everything runs through this pod. there's a 13 inch widescreen version. this is the tablet. if you want to do more thorough mixing with it using it as a touchscreen, the 13 is the way to go. looking at photo proofs a little closer? writing a paper for class? perfect all around computer for the kids. perfect accessory computer for adults. you can upgrade your components and always fit this in b/c of bluetooth. -'and one more thing' the best part is the "1x4x7" version is also - yes - a remote control for the huge hdtv computer. that tv becomes a hub, and recognizes you and it when you walk into the room. we heard reports about the patent for the 'media recognition' software or something like that. this is your fingerprint. you don't have to log onto your account everytime, you just have to move your 'media thingy' near it. it opens your personal preference page. it streams movies and music onto the tv, or onto your g4 or g5 using bluetooth. it connects your old useless g4 to your new fancy hdtvs. it's cross platform, and a new platform in itself. the hdtv is the 'one last thing'. it is what the media thing brings you TO. check your email around the world, in the car, on the road. take your media thing to a mac hdtv in the airport, and check your email, using the screen as a keyboard. download a movie to take on the plane. ichat with relatives about the movie when you land and get a map to get to their house. it's too damn simple, it has to be true. who's with me? i think this is it. |

oh yeah... and this new mac/car company connection? the only way they can connect is with bluetooth. so the car companies just allow them to 'talk' to the pod thingy, maybe two way, but i'd guess one way at first. so you just put your damn ipod in the car, the car recognizes it, play songs, get diagnostic info, you get the picture...

Sounds like the '8-pounder with the 10 inch screen' rumour that Steve Jobs was spreading in his Keynote
Yes what a nice dream, Bonzoa! No, I am with you. Seriously! It makes sense to me |

right? i read that too. no man, i've read everything, and i've been de-coding all the talk from wall street too. viiv is a setup so it can work in concert with these devices. my guess is that it'll be open so other companies can make similar (uglier) devices that can still communicate. remember that weird association of integrated components that was formed last year? i remember intel being on that panel, and samsung (screen) and a few others... very fishy.
IT HAS TO BE THIS!!!! |

oh yeah and also -
silent. no fans. no moving parts. there was another mini computer at ces that was in the intel keynote... it was in the shadows and mentioned only briefly... but it was silent with no moving parts and it had a yonah in it i think.... |

i swear the last thing...
and of course, instant on. maybe the .mac account can have a constant page if you're within wifi or wireless connection. hence the increased bandwidth recently. i web also begins to take on a new proportion in this scheme. it's like myspace and friendster, but using the internet as a whole and foregoing the constraints of the sites. some easy way to connect through an "extranet". you can choose a group of people that can freely access you and you them. taking i chat to a more personal and constant level. this is getting pretty sci fi at this point, but it just seems too easy. |

Me thinks that ye super secret 10" iPod would be quite a stretch, but it wouldn't be beyond Jobs to slip a future product right under our noses. Maybe he was hinting at a tablet??

well, i'm thinking that there will be a family of these pods, just like the ipod. but different by both name and marketing. so that like the shuffle, nano, and vanilla ipod, there'd be a small, medium, and large. large being closer to a tablet like device and small being still bigger than the ipod but closer to a phone than the medium....

I really couldn't see that happening, especially the naming part (small, medium, large). Just doesn't fit into Apple's naming scheme.
Who knows, that's what speculation is for I guess PS The purple post color is because Kansas State finally beat Kansas in basketball!! |

Uh, there is no one by that name on the members list. Does he/she have another pseudonym here? Or are you confusing Applenova with AppleInsider?

And then, Apple will publicly disclose the meaning of life, something they've been keeping secret since the original Macintosh summoned the powers of Christ to Cupertino in 1984.
Steve will then melt like the Wicked Witch of the West because he ruined all the fun for Jesus, who was planning on telling everyone in 2046. |

nice debunking, but let's stick to the facts here, shall we? i'm collating all the info that's already out there about apple, and putting them into a product. not pulling it out of my ass from nowhere.

I'm not trying to be rude, it's just that's the most outlandish rumor I've heard in a long time. What, exactly, are you basing this on? You keep coming back saying, "one more thing, it's going to have jet propulsion" and what are we supposed to think? |

I've only ever seen him mention ThinkSecret, not AppleNova, and I have no idea who Kevin is.
After all the humiliation and attacking at AI (including from moderators), I'm really not surprised he's become more low-key. |
