I remember going to an Apple store last year, and I saw it there also though never got around to asking about it. So, in this pic, what is that centered "CMD+Tab"-type window?? It's interesting, and I doubt it's "Apple Store Only"…

Considering there's a "Concierge" link there, yes, it does seem Apple Store-specific.

There was a thread a while ago. It is apple store only, it isn't customizable, people got it running on their computers. Not sure if it was here or AI, but there was a thread, someone look for it and link us to it. I refuse.

Edit: I'll revise my statement to last I heard it wasn't customizable.

You can find the App on one of their computers and email it to yourself. I've done that with some of their screen savers before, although I doubt it would be useful at home.

Hm, I just doubted it would be for them only… Even though it doesn't provide much use, it could be nice to have for links to apps, et c. instead of them all over your desktop. I'll have to keep the idea of emailing things from the store to me.

Anyone know what it is called?

I don't know what it's called, but I would check Activity Monitor or Recent Applications. Usually it would be listed there.

BTW, the thing kind of reminds me of an App called Statoo. I don't think Statoo can launch Apps though.

Statoo looks nice either way. I'll have to remember to look for that app the next time I go to an Apple Store.

You mean "Stattoo" and I don't think it looks anything like it at all.

I didn't say it looked like it, I said it reminded me of it.

Slightly transparent and always there, I see some similarities.

Oh, and sorry for forgetting the extra "t".

Well, I put it onto my USB/SD card when I went to the Glass Cube, and it says "error in urls.txt", which I haven't an idea to what it means. In the .txt file there is a framework "file://Applications/Concierge" which I dont have. The rest are links inside the .txt.

That's as far as I've gotten.

Is there a particular reason you're trying to steal this piece of kit?

I hope you realize that the launcher and Concierge were written specifically for the Apple retail stores. I would not expect them to be extensible (at least, not easily) for other general usage.

The quality of this board depends on the quality of the posts. The only way to guarantee thoughtful, informative discussion is to write thoughtful, informative posts. AppleNova is not a real-time chat forum. You have time to compose messages and edit them before and after posting.

No more of a particular reason to steal it then that it looked "neat" and "interesting." I do realize it's Apple Store sepcific, and guess it is somewhat stealing, but it's not as if I can make profit off it, nor'd I try to of anything I don't own. In my opinion, a small launcher like that on Desktop would be of use, but not if I haven't a clue on how to get it working.

I just thougt I'd update, since I started the thread, and had a conclusion to it. I doubt I'll do much more with it anyway if it isn't or is hard to be customizable. Still somewhat interesting to me if it could be used...

Cheers

EDIT: Docktop. Seems more usable.
