Here's my boys:

Tsi-Tsa, Mikesh, and Bryson (yes, that's where the online name comes from)

Mikesh and Bryson are part Maine Coon Cat (although it doesn't show in the colouring) and are huge. Tsi-tsa is a big cat - the other two are like the size of dogs.

There is nothing cuter on the face of the planet than a beagle puppy. I love them.

I don't "get" pets other than dogs at all.

Dogs-wise, I don't have one, I doubt I ever will. Dogs of relatives and friends are great though. The ones I've been with most were friends' bull terrier (he was terrific) and my cousins' Rottie. The Rottie died of old age, and after a few years' mourning period they got a puppy that was half Rottie, half Great Dane mix. That one grew the size of a calf in two, three years, but it had awful health problems (got strokes, the last of which killed it). Was both stupid and enthusiastic, neither especially good thing in a dog that size.

I will be getting up about 5am on Sunday myself. So at least you won't be getting up alone.

Those are awesome pictures 709. Thank you for sharing. The cats seem to enjoy resting. The dog seems to love being active.

Hey 709, that dog of yours looks really cool... bet you have a lot of fun together.

Myself, I hit a roadblock trying to get another Rottie; just a little too big for the new house (well, according to the wife). She wanted a Shih-Tzu or a poodle... like THAT was going to happen! Compromised on a beagle, because they're pretty close to a real dog, size-wise.

Man, I wish I had a camera ready when we surprised the kids with her... they almost freaking shit their pants when I turned around with a puppy in my arms. They've been bugging us all year for one.

I haven't had time to really take decent pics, but here are a few quick snapshots:

And a quick movie from my digital camera (click for 7mb .avi):

Pretty fun having a puppy in the house again. I kind of forgot how much work it is. Our last dog Sarah (the rottie), we adopted from the SPCA so we missed the early pup stuff... this little monster will chew anything. Boots, shoes, couches, the armrest in the van, the bottom of the kitchen table... good times.

You obviously never saw the "AppleInsider.com sucks" movie. Those are some darn good kids.

And congrats on the new dog Murbot.

Hi, Sammy. Wasn't that: "AppleInsiah dot tom sucks" ...or something along those lines?

Congratulations on finally getting a new puppy, murbeau. I'm *really* happy for you.

My dog acted like a puppy for almost two years - chewing, etc.; then, suddenly, she turned into an adult dog practically overnight. It was amazing.

A bit of advice: if you can, try to avoid adding up the monetary total of the stuff your puppy destroys. I mean, once it's done, it's done, right? Don't leave valuable stuff lying around. Make sure puppy has her own stuff to chew.

My brother's dog chewed up his brand new $400 dental mouth guard, and the power cord on his brand new table saw.

Make sure she gets lots of exercise and play, so that she is too worn-out most of the time to get into mischief. (Yeah, right. )

Have fun, and good luck.

Yes, as a matter of fact it was...I just didn't want to try and spell it and get made fun of.

I love the third picture. Dogs are so funny when they're just getting to know each other...always a sideways peek and never quite eye to eye.

How's your other dog handling the pup? Should be fun for him (her?) to have somebody new around to play with.

So it goes.

I already posted mine, but now I'm shamelessly posting pics of my german shepherd when she was a puppy.

She was about two weeks old at the time (we got from a rescue shelter).

As a small deviation from the puppy theme, here's a picture of one pet I didn't mention yet:

Omg, what a cutie!

Those big 'puppy feet' and those ultra-soft ears.

What fun to roughhouse on the carpet with a puppy. Love it.

Glad you have this new little addition to your household, alcimedes. Yay!

All these pets are so cute! I want one. Of everything. I'm currently petless but hope to get a dog in a few years. But seeing all these pictures is tempting me to run to a shelter right now.
