Hi there,
I feel I've asked this before, but I did a search, and couldn't find anything, so here goes (again?) - - When I open various Word documents, the very top (with the red, green and yellow buttons, for closing the window, etc.) are above the top of my powerbook display, and I can't drag them down, because I can't get at the strip at the top. I have to zoom the window, and then re-size it... Then when I open the same doc again, though, same problem. I thought it might be that I had my pb display set at the wrong resolution (if that's what it's called) - - but I've got it at 1280 x 854, which I think is the right one. So is there another solution to this rather annoying problem? Thanks, Malcolm |

Could it possibly be a preference in Word? This is the only app that does this weird thing. I've looked in Word, and found nothing about window placement. As I say, I've already checked what I thought might have been the likely culprit, my Display resolution, but that's got to be 1280 X 854, doesn't it?

Does clicking "Window -> Arrange All" bring it into view?

Yes turtle, but then I have to re-size it. And then next time I open it, the top of the window's above display again, and I have to do it again.
It's odd. Malcolm |

What about re-saving the document or cut and pasting into a new document?
Seems there's a setting with the file that sets it to open in the wrong position, but I don't know what the setting is. Have you tried deleting <home>/Library/Preferences/Microsoft/com.microsoft.Word.prefs.plist?

I'll try and report back. Thanks so much for the suggestion.
