I'm looking to do the shiny web 2.0 AJAX wonder of wonders effect. I'm not sure what to call it, but it is what Digg uses for comments to hide/show them. Scriptalicious calls it the 'blind up/down' effect. Scriptalicious works, but it is sizalicious.

Can anyone help me work towards this effect without making my 5kb page take two minutes to load?

Oh, and here is my test page for reference. I made a basic form and didn't do any CSS work yet. I'm trying to get the toggle down first.

My site loads fine, complete with the latest scriptaculous library. I doubt the problem lies there.

More likely, the problem is with your hosting.

(As far as trying to write your own javascript effects... don't. You probably couldn't do it better than scriptaculous - there's a reason Wordpress, Digg, and even Apple uses them. Their good.)
