So of course, there are the obligatory "pimpmymortgage.org" ads where they display the dancing animations and people... goes without saying those who create such ads, along with kingpin spammers, all deserve steaming rotten death on a plate. But there are lesser known, equally baffling ads. Ads that make you go "so... who is it out there that looks at this ad and says "I gotta get me summa THAT"?

Allow me to post a prime example (see below)

Now, ignoring for a moment that this is possibly the worst Photoshop job on a portrait that I've ever seen, who exactly would believe this, even if it were more subtle? This woman appears to have shed 40 years and several pre-cancerous lesions from her face with one application of this skin treatment. The best part: little fine print right above the Photoshop hag that says "simulated images". Bonus points to the advertiser for that. Such ethics! I am going to run right out and buy your snake oil for all the women i know, because man... you were so clear on that simulated image thing. I was almost fooled!

I challenge you all to find any internet ad from a respect'ble site (no prOn ads please) that compares. This one was on weather.com

If only that was the case, then I might be willing to let it pass. These ads show up all sorts of places, though, lately they haven't prompted any stupid pop-up dialogues. The one in question was from Comics.com.

When I first saw this post I thought turbulentfurball was the poster. Bad thoughts went through my mind.

I really hate all those "shoot the duck and win a free iPod!!!" animated ads. Always badly animated (or borderline tacky/offensive in some way), and just completely idiotic. Wish I could find one...of course the one time I want to find one to include here, I can't.

Any other night, I'd see them at every site I visit.

This thread could use some awesome ads to counter all the shitty ones.

I get these on "normal" sites all the time.

*cue pr0n music* Nice work...

All right back to business. Today I found one, in a sports forum of all places, that made me question if the creator of this ad attended that worthless college design program Drew wrote about this morning. It also made me question the administrator of the forum. Complaints to be lodged.

Anyway here is a finalist for this year's "Worst Illustration Placement in a Beauty ad" award.

Lauren Hutton looks like Willem Defoe! I know lots of women are going to see that and say "I GOTS to get me some of that Lauren Hutton makeup!"

I'm a guy and even I can figure out why this ad is retarded / sucks. WTF.
