Howdy hey all -

I just switched from gaim to Adium and was wondering if there's any way to transfer over all of the logged conversations. I have the gaim files--they're all in doc format--but the Adium stuff seems to be in a format that can't be edited willy-nilly. The layout of the log folders seems the same though: there's a folder called logs, inside is a folder for all the sns I've chatted with and in those are the various files.

I emailed Adium but they haven't responded in quite some time. Any pointers?

Rather than wait for an email response from the developers (did you mean Adam Iser?), you should raise the question on the Adium forums:

That said, I don't believe there's any way currently to do what you're asking.

Just in case any one else ever wants to do this, you can just put the text files along with the xml ones in the adium log directory. Adium automatically adds them to your archived conversation. The only caveat is that you lose the time stamps that come up to the right of each conversation.
