Im thinking of getting an ibook and read somewhere that ibooks do not have scrolling trackpads, what does this mean? Also do the trackpads work so you can tap them twice like a double click?

Cheers

The scrolling trackpad is a new feature in the Powerbooks. Basically, you can put 2 fingers on the trackpad and move them up or down to simulate scrolling; it's really convenient.

All of Apple's trackpads support tapping to simulate clicking.

It also means you can you something like Sidetrack to get similar functionality for the iBook.

First of all, it's not default. If there's a way to do this it's with a haxie, but I haven't heard of it or looked.

Second, the trackpad clicking thing (found on most current PC laptops) can get annoying, and if for some bizarre reason Apple did start doing it, I'd disable it.

Lastly, the PowerBook trackpad scroll is really handy.

It may not be on by default, but it's definitely available in System Preferences.

4. Select options to enable you to click by tapping the trackpad, drag by tapping twice and dragging on the trackpad, or drag lock, which requires that you tap again to release the dragged item.
