Ok, so I've searched and looked over the web but can't seem to find the information I require so here goes, hope you guys can help me:
I bought a new LCD tv recently, the 40" model: http://www.samsung.com/uk/products/t...Specifications Anyway I hooked it up to my 17" MBP with a DVI-HDMI cable and everything seems to be fine and whatnot if I span displays - however the problem is that in the resolutions offered for the tv by OSX there is not one for the native resolution of the tv and hence stuff looks a bit funny. This problem is confounded when I try and mirror displays - it just will not work - the image will never fit the tv screen properly. Either it will be in a little window in the middle or it will stretch past the screen. So, what am I doing wrong or what program do I need to use so that I can mirror the displays and use my MBP whilst the lid is closed and have the LCD tv acting as an external monitor? What do I need to do? Thanks very much. |

I can't recall what it is, but there is a program available that I heard being used with Mac minis as entertainment centers that allows for non-standard resolutions. I'm pretty sure that's what you need. I'd look myself if I had time right now, but you may have some luck on sites dedicated Mac mini media centers.
Would love to know what it is if you find it. |

Hmm I've tried them out and if i try and mirror it still does't work - the dock and status bar are out of sight. Anyone have any suggestions?
BTW thanks to those who have replied so far. |
