I have been using Entourage for a long time but just switched to the Mail/Address Book/iCal combo. I use ChronoSync to do a small nightly backup which covers my folders such as Documents so that they are backed up every 24 hours. I knew which folders to use for Entourage but my question is:
Which folders does Mail, iCal, and Address Book use so that I can back up these data folders?

~/Library/Mail
~/Library/Application Support/AddressBook
~/Library/Application Support/iCal

I know, it's quite obscure...

Let's also not forget:

~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.mail.plist
~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.AddressBook.plist
~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.AddressBook.abd.plist
~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.iCal.plist
~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.iCal.AlarmScheduler.plist

Generally speaking, a quick Spotlight search on the ~/Library folder will find anything settings-related that you want to keep. Plus, the file hierarchy is named quite logically, making the task even easier.

Huh - so what is ~/Library/Calendars supposed to hold? I actually typed that first, before checking and seeing it was empty...

I believe iCal in 10.3 used that.

So are these the files that Backup copied to .Mac for me? As in, I can now create an automated backup of these files and have a steady archive going?
