Me? I'm'a gonna be'a Mario! Here's a really horrible picture I threw together for a page at work. It looks wicked awesomer x10 in person.
I'm going out with the little lady to (finally) see Shaun of the Dead. Then, who knows? Maybe we'll go trick or treating. So, is anyone else here dressing up or doing anything fun for Halloween? I always knew you were a geek. But, uh, wow. I had no idea just how high your geek meter went.
Wait, should I be saying nerd or geek? Anyway.... whoa. I'm freaked out by that image. Just kidding man. (sort of) heh I'm not doing anything too crazy, kind of hard with young kids. Handing out candy for a bit, taking them around the block for trick or treating. Ordering supper afterwards. Probably drink a bunch of beer. I was going to stick on a wicked Yoda mask I just had given to me, but I might do some kind of punk thing. I've been growing my hair out a lot, it's longer than I've had it in a couple of years. I have a haircut on Saturday, was planning on getting it clipped super short (#1), but I'm thinking of leaving a mohawk down the middle. My hairdresser says I can come back in a couple of days and she'll buzz it off for me if I do it, for free. No one knows my plan though, so I might just shock them by showing up with a fucking mohawk. Yeah, just slightly out of character for me. It'll be cool. |

I've been letting my beard grow in anticipation of some Hallowe'en options. (Pirate, etc)
Bad news is the amount of grey in it. </vanity> I teach on the 31st (in costume, of course, as is my custom), and if I find an awesome party* I might work up a 2nd costume as appropriate for the theme. *In the absence of foreknowledge or invites to groovy parties, I've found that walking past clubs and inspecting the quality of costumes in line is very informative... some of the best outfits are those glimpsed huddled behind the velvet rope. Once you pick a spot, the selection tends to be limited, but during the cruise while the partydar seeks a strong signal, the diversity of attire is a sideshow all its own. |

I didn't want to be the first to say it......I'm going to have nightmares.
(is brad sporting a pornstar moustache?) I'm with murbot, I'll probably stay in and hand out the candy as we have a new squirt. She'll probably go for a bit, but her stamina won't be up to her brothers (5 & 4) who have taken halloween to a sacred level. One new development this year, my daughter and my youngest son now enjoy the candy with nuts so that avenue of pleasure will be denied me.............until they are sleeping.....muahahahaha! Tell them they have to leave offerings to appease the spirits under their beds for another year... just like the santa bribes of cookies and rumnog lubricate leniency instead of lumps of coal at stocking stuffing time.
Hell, I'd tell them the Easter Bunny and Tooth Fairy are demanding kickbacks, too. Get them prepared for the real world. |

I'll be turning all lights out and hiding in a closet. Children freak me out, children in costumes begging for candy make me shit myself with fear. God bless all the condom companies of the world.

I figure the prank possibilities are unlimited. |

Originally I was going to be a pirate, but I didn't get my costume together in time, so now I'm going to be a hillbilly, because well I already dress like a hillbilly.
Brad, you'd make a better luigi methinks. |

I'll be out with my three scary little kids: cat (age 10), acrobat (8) and 'Bob the Builder" (2). What I really want to hear is the 2-year-old telling people who he is: "Bob-de-Beeoodoh"

My line of thinking was: "My housemate printed out a paper iMac... where can I stick it?"

Like curiousuburb, I actually had grown out a full beard specifically with Halloween in mind. Last night I shaved all but the mustache and... well... let's just say I'll be going "babyface" again after Sunday. The quality of this board depends on the quality of the posts. No firm plans, really. A couple of possibilities, kinda up in the air and subject to the whims/leanings of some other people. Either way, I'm covered: I'll either stay home, maybe rent a few movies and just enjoy a quiet, "at home" Halloween for the first time in quite a while, or I'll get together with someone(s) if things fall into place.
I'd prefer the former, truth be told. I was trying to think of an Apple-centric costume the past couple of weeks and just last night I hit on - duh - an iPod, realizing it would probably be a fairly simple thing to put together: white square box, proportioned correctly, leg/arm holes, the click-wheel and screen would be easy enough to create in Illustrator, print out on 11x17 sheets, spray mount onto the front, spraypaint a silver back, etc. Get about 10-feet of white rope from Home Depot for the headphone "cable", etc. I'm thinking all this cool crap up as I'm drifting off to sleep last night... But, alas, I'm out of time and not interested in busting my ass the next 24 hours to cobble something together. If I had another week to do it, then yeah. Maybe next year... |

I'm 6'3", I have long red hair, and a beard. And I get to carry a club. Whoo! I've been told the overall effect is quite frightening. |
