Here's mine. I used this last year, around this time (up until about February or so). I found it online... *shrug* But it's cute and the color is me.
And this year I made a little iPhone companion to go with it: I've been doing the above for about 9-10 months now (after a friend lost his phone and worried about what was suddenly out there for anyone to look at...e-mail, photos, contact info, map/address stuff, etc.). This wallpaper, along with the Passcode Lock enabled, makes me feel very safe with my iPhone "out in the world". It gives honest people two ways to contact me the minute they turn it on, but keeps prying types (or thieves) out of all my personal info. Best of both worlds: assists honest, helpful people, thwarts the snoops. The above, along with MobileMe's "Find my iPhone" feature, makes going out for the evening, among crowds and visiting multiple places, nowhere near the worry or hassle it used to be. Hell, I almost wish I would lose the damn thing (or have it stolen), just so I could get a new one, guilt-free. |

I know. Who could ever be mean and keep it, when faced with such a smiley little guy?

It was an awesome show. Even better that they picked me to go down in front of the crowd. I loved it. What's really funny is I was just playing along with the joking back and forth. The pirate by the boat asked what I was doing and the guy on shore with me said I was just singing (he was speaking for me of course). He then started to sing the teacup song and I instinctively did the moves for it. Thankfully one of the overpriced photographers were on hand to blackmail me into buying one of the shots from the booth. Totally worth it! It was a great time and my kid loved watching me make a fool of myself. Then again, so did the whole crowd. They were laughing hysterically at me.

The title of this thread feels like such an anachronism to me. Does anyone here still use a 56K modem?

Web isn't for 56k anymore. It would be such a PITA. Dave Mustaine :"God created whammy bars for people who don't know how to solo." |

Here's mine. I like to keep things simple... the dock is looking pretty cluttered at the moment! Pedobear Adium icon = gold. The pin-up lady sitting on the eiffel tower is my home folder, and the little grim reaper you can barely see on the bottom left is my 'miscellaneous items' folder, where everything ends up

I don't know why but pedobear/pedrobear just cracks me up. Everything about him. I imagine he's a really jolly fellow, like Mr. Hanky from South Park, with almost the same high pitched voice. I'm Joseph Fritzl, and no windows was my idea. |

I love that era of constructivism/suprematism/geometric abstraction, because for all their formal rigor, they still look so hand made, so painted. Unlike the later American pop influenced and minimalist stuff that goes for the untouched by human hands thing. That which doesn't kill you weakens you slightly and makes you less able to cope until you're completely incapacitated |

The photo I took today, plus my dock. Afraid not much is ever stored on my desktop, though you can see my KotOR screenshot folder. "A blind, deaf, comatose, lobotomy patient could feel my anger!" - Darth Baras twitter ; amateur photographer ; fanfiction writer ; roleplayer and worldbuilder |

I've had the same picture as my desktop background for a while, so I figured it was time for a change.
Here's my new one. The gf with the Philly Phanatic statue at Love Park. No more Twitter. It's Mastodon now. |

I'm particularly proud of this desktop image I just made. After having seen a bunch of worn "grunge" flag pictures, I decided to make one last night with my own spin on the concept.
Also sitting on my desktop is an early rendering of another work-in-progress idea I'm toying with. The quality of this board depends on the quality of the posts.
