Hey all. I'm currently in Germany and I have a US iPhone on 1.1.2 currently chilling in Airplane mode on my desk. I would really like to use its Wi-Fi features though. International Data Roaming is turned off, but if I turn Airplane mode off will AT&T still find some way to charge me out the wazoo or am I good?

I've heard you can just pull your SIM.

Over here we simply remove one of the EDGE password / service name text lines in settings and then re-boot the phone. When you want to use it again then simply put the missing text line back in.
Not sure if that is possible on a locked AT&T iPhone as I have never seen one. There are also some apps that will do it now, and give you lots of GUI options, but you need to hack your phone to use them. If International Data Roaming is turned off, you should be fine without pulling the SIM or doing anything else. I've been in Mexico since before 1.1.2 and haven't gotten hit with any surprise data charges.
