F'in artichokes are supreme. I like the meticulous trimming. Did you/do you ever use the heel of your hand to press down on top after the trim to loosen it up a bit (I'm not taking about booty, here)?

I think that shot would have been great with an SLR (its good without it too)...

A picture of my Friends newly designed almost production ready X-6^3 (cubed) 1/10th scale electric R/C car.

I thought it was pretty cool with the desaturated background.

Finally, the weather was nice and I could take a day off to visit a local animal park...

Nice image, the level of detail is simply outstanding.

This is the last in a series of images I've taken at this location.

Here is the series.

Cool! Now do it again with an object in the foreground.

I’m still waiting for Stevuh to figure out how to share an image on the internet in 2013…

Especially as flickr already gives you the ready to use BBCode fragment, which you just have to paste into the editor ...

I just need to get a horse to walk by each time I take a shot (the path is a horse trail).

An old picture of mine from my trip to Yankee Stadium back in 2010 run through instagram.

Compare it to the original.... I like how the filter brings out the different color and grain pattern of the limestone.

Never been a big fan of the instagram look, and to be honest your image is a good example of why. With a similar crop and some sharpening the orignal would be good too. The instagram copy is blown out, over sharpened, and overly saturated. But that's my feel on instragam images to start with...

I like the crop choice though!

Here is my first D800 image I'll post here. Loving the camera, the detail you get out of the files is outstanding!

Went to the Yankees vs Twins game yesterday in hopes of seeing Mariano Rivera pitch one last time, but the bums lost.

Anyway, here are some pictures from the game.

Some nice baseball shots there. Nice quality on that lens.

Here is maybe the last shot I took with my old DP1 that I will share here - actually one of the last shots I took with it. Taken on a work trip I took to the Middle East in March.

The juxtaposition of the old and new captures something of what I saw.

Anyway, soon I will share some shots I have been taking with the X100S.

Indeed, great baseball shots.

A shot from a recent trip into the interior of BC. I didn't have a tripod with me on the hike, so this was taken with the D800+24-70 resting on some pieces from fallen trees.

A few of the pics that I have taken with my new X100s. Enjoying it.

This is one of the first I took, while we were still in San Francisco, where I bought the camera. Escape from Alcatraz!

On our way for a weekend to visit our eldest child, who has her first summer job, in eastern Quebec. An old cannon, still protecting Quebec City...symbolically.

I recently was back at my hometown. The zoo had a new ape house, so I couldn't resist to check it out. Much improved conditions for the gorillas and bonobos, but as difficult to get a good shot through the glass than in the previous ape house...

Impressive image, even if the glass was in the way!

It took a lot of fiddling to get the light even close to how I wanted it for this shot. Ideally I would have had an additional flash behind the camera to light the front of the flower better, but the built in unit on the D800 had to do. Taken outdoors at dusk.

Beautiful shot. Reminds me I didn't take flower shots for quite some time ..

But currently, it's too hot and humid. I just feel like this guy:

We recently walked/hiked in the Oker valley:

Cool! I didn't know that there's a place where these cannons are operative...

The 9 o'clock gun in Vancouver has a long history (for something in North America). It's a British navel gun, made in 1818, and was sent to Canada in 1856 (just before Canada became a country). It's been in Stanley Park since 1898, and has been fired daily for over 100 years, almost without exception (was stolen buy university students in the 1970's, for a few days as a class prank).

First picture from a recent visit to Vancouver Island. Sadly the trip was cut short by a turn in the weather. Of course that means I have to go again another time. The photo is of French Beach, located on the west side of the island, facing south towards northern Washington State.
