iPod Download was an iTunes plug in that let you drag files off your iPod. It (unsurprisingly) provoked a C&D from Apple and was pulled, because it used the licensed iTunes SDK to do this.
"Media Module" is the generic term for something that is accessable from iTunes, the icon is the generic icon for something that is accessable from iTunes. If you write an iTunes plug in for an MP3 player, it will have that icon and say "media module" unless you come up with something better. The sky was deep black; Jesus still loved me.
