If I were a reporter and had been duped with the "You really have to attend this one. It's big!" message from Apple I'd be asking for some airfare refunds about now.

Is that it? Engadget is hoping something happens after Johnson gets off stage. I don't think Jobs has ever come back on stage after the entertainment has started.

Its dead, there is only a 120GB model now.

Apple's events seem so boring now, this last year has been so underwhelming.

What is the reason for lowering capacity?
Somebody, for the love of God explain that to me.

You know those bums that hang around on the beach playing a guitar badly and very slowly drawling about how awesome surfing is? He's one of them with a record contract.

well, I was halfway right. they did get rid of the 160 gb classic (since not many people buy them apparently) but the 120 is still there. it's only a matter of time though, before, hasta la vista baby!

Ok Apple. Do you remember those things you used to make a long time ago. If i could only remember their name... Oh yeah Macs. Thats it.

When in Gods name are they going to update their computer line up??

I know that this was an iPod event but it didn't really even deserve an event, a new iPod nano, a slightly updated iPod Touch and iTunes 8.0. Not exactly ground breaking.

Didn't Steve promise a year of amazing products at the beginning of the year? So where are they? The only new product (that is completely unique) is the MacBook Air. Everything else was simply updated. And the MacBook Air is now out-of-date with all the other manufacturers have jumped on the band wagon and produced better products (with better battery life, more USB ports etc). What happened to the innovator?

Overall, nice changes to the line-up, but nothing that causes me any great excitement. Anyway with a relatively recent Nano, iPod and Touch – all bought within the last few years, and all working well – I am not in the market for another one.

The most interesting announcement from my personal perspective is the 2.1 software update, available Friday. Hopefully that should be an improvement.

Is there a video of the keynote for this event?

If you don't see it on Apple's homepage yet, then no. They usually post the video of the presentation or keynote that same evening, so just check Apple's homepage in a few hours, and off and on throughout the evening. It'll show up at some point this evening if history is anything to go by.

EDIT: How funny...while not on their homepage (yet), it does appear they've posted it already.

Here you go.

For the full content of today's events - until you can get on to see a video feed- this was a pretty detailed live blog that I was reading earlier today:

I would have hoped for an TV Refresh. They really need to get a bigger harddrive especially now that HD TV Shows are available to download. I really want a 500GB one!!!!

Forgive a silly question (I don't have an tv and don't really keep up with them), but are they user-upgradeable, by chance? If not, that would be a nice feature (as your collection expands and as more content goes HD, it would be nice to be able to pop out the hard drive and easily replace it with a larger-capacity drive if needed).

But then that would keep many people from ever upgr...and I think I just answered my own question.

Since the official news and video stream are out, this thread no longer belongs in speculation and rumors.
