has anyone found a cheap ac adapter for the ipod mini

Um... Apple sells one for $30. I doubt you'll find anything for a whole lot cheaper than that. You might be able to find one on eBay or something, but even then most iPod AC adapters use Firewire, and the mini only comes with USB, so you'd probably just have to get the Apple USB AC adapter.

there are a host of 3rd party "usb chargers" out there that will charge a bunch of usb devices.... that should work with the iPod.

You could also get an airport express

yes but ive heard some horror stories of third-party ac adapters burning up the ipod. how do i know if the product is a good product or not?

You could just buy an Apple one. $30 isn't that bad. As Jeff Goldblum put it, that's three pizzas.

well, I've never actually used any of the devices... but you usually get what you pay for. That said, all you need is a powered USB port. They should be quite abundant...
