For those of you who have checked out wikitosh's website, there are some interesting How To references. One being, to make your background your screensaver.

BUT be warned, I had to zap my system in order to get my desktop back!

why not just use a freeware program like Backlight to do it for you without all the hassle?

I don't like installing all these naff little programs that only do the work of a single command line.

If you open terminal and enter the command without the "&" on the end. Like so:-
/System/Library/Frameworks/ScreenSaver.framework/Resources/ScreenSaverEngine.app/Contents/MacOS/ScreenSaverEngine -background

Then just minimise the terminal window. When you want to stop the screensaver just maximise the terminal window and press ctrl-c, or quit terminal!

I very much doubt that you "had to zap" your system. More likely you just didn't read the instructions properly!

Meh, just givin a heads up with problems I had... and yes, I did read the instructions, I just got a black screen both times I tried it, couldn't get anything to work.
