i am planning to buy a mac mini for a friend.
he has a vga display and in the mac mini specifications, it says that i have to buy a mini-dvi to vga adapter. i looked in the apple online store to find one. on the only one i found it says :

Quote:
Apple Mini DVI to DVI Adapter

The Mini-DVI to DVI adapter is designed for the iMac (Intel Core Duo), MacBook, and 12-inch PowerBook G4 — allowing you to connect to an external DVI monitor. It can also be used in combination with the Apple DVI to ADC adapter to support older Apple flat panel Studio or Cinema Displays.

mac mini is not mentioned.

is it the right one for the mac mini or is there another one i need to buy ?

Both are correct, actually. The mini has mini-DVI and mini Display Port. Either adapter would be fine.

The first wouldn't because it's mini-DVI to DVI. You need mini-DVI to VGA or mini-DisplayPort to VGA.

Oops! I read his first post as saying he found one. I didn't notice it was mini-DVI to VGA. Apple does make one of those, though.

This is the fourth result when you search mini-DVI on Apple's online store.
