I made the switch a couple of months ago, and bought a powerbook. This was my first laptop ever- and ive realized im more of a desktop kind of a person. So im seriously considering selling the powerbook and getting a 20 inch imac instead.
I have a few questions however, and your input would be appreciated. First, I havent bought applecare for my powerbook yet, but is the original 1 year warranty transferrable for the powerbook? Secondly, how would i go about making a mirror of the powerbook's hard disk using an external hard drive, and then making the imac think that the external hard drive is a mac (to import from).

I want to sell the powerbook before i buy the imac because I want to sell it in Norway, where I can pretty much get what I paid for the pbook (everything is just more expensive in norway) and then go back to Illinois and get my imac from there.
Thank you.

Just hook a cat5 from the PB to the iMac and you can access you personal folder.

edit: sorry, I didn't read the last part of your post carefully.. Disregard

There's a couple ways to go about this, depending on your external harddrive. If it's firewire, then you can make an exact image on the harddrive and then boot your iMac directly from that and copy it over.
