Im selling my powerbook and getting an imac 17 + a 12inch ibook instead. I have a few questions that I would like to ask
1. If i copy the entire home directory to a hard drive, can i import emails from Mail and other applications to my future iMac? If not, what other option should i use. 2. Where does mail store its emails, so that i could copy those files and 'paste' them in the new puter. Would this work? (I used to do that with windows machines) 3. As i read in another post, the warranty is on the computer itself. Could a future owner buy apple care on the computer, if the 1 yr warranty period hasnt expired? Thanks. |

1. If you copy your whole home folder, nearly all applications will retain the settings exactly as they were on your old Mac.
2. In your home Library/Mail folder. As above, just copying that folder will copy all mail messages and folders to your new Mac. 3. Yes, I believe so.
