Im selling my powerbook and getting an imac 17 + a 12inch ibook instead. I have a few questions that I would like to ask
1. If i copy the entire home directory to a hard drive, can i import emails from Mail and other applications to my future iMac? If not, what other option should i use.
2. Where does mail store its emails, so that i could copy those files and 'paste' them in the new puter. Would this work? (I used to do that with windows machines)
3. As i read in another post, the warranty is on the computer itself. Could a future owner buy apple care on the computer, if the 1 yr warranty period hasnt expired?
Thanks.

1. If you copy your whole home folder, nearly all applications will retain the settings exactly as they were on your old Mac.

2. In your home Library/Mail folder. As above, just copying that folder will copy all mail messages and folders to your new Mac.

3. Yes, I believe so.
