.
You're thinking: Nopes, not true.

I'm telling you: ya rly, it is true.

What does it contain? I hear you ask.. Well, its a torrent (2 of them in fact) that has on it c.1500 tracks in total. This is about c.1400 artists. The artists vary from a huge collection of genres, including:

Indie
Alt. Rock
Emo-ness
Country
Blues
Electronica
Metal
Acoustic

etc..

Why is it legal?
Well, the reason why this music is available, is because its part of the SXSW festival, which is like glastonbury (for you UK's), and the torrent(s) are 'showcasing' the artists and their music who play there

Why would I want it?
Trying new music, experiancing different genres, filling up your iTunes library, etc...

What about the torrents? Tell me about them!
Well, I say 1500 tracks, but that's split up over the 2005 showcase, and the 2007 showcase. These are linked below:

>>The 2007: 3.3Gb, 750 tracks<<

>>The 2005: 32.6Gb, 715 tracks<<
However, their link to the torrent seems to be broken, so here's a direct link to download the .torrent

(^These may well be a little out)

Hope you guys like this little candy!

~/Suddoo

p.s. the 2007 torrent came out about a week ago I think? So, I managed to download the 3.3Gb in under 5 hours - for 4 days worth of musik.. wowzers!

p.p.s here's the torrent directory, if you need it

There sure don't seem to be many seeders for these torrents.

I'd love one day to get to SXSW. Maybe when my son is old enough. I figure he's got to be about 8 to appreciate some good tunes.

If it's not red and showing substantial musculature, you're wearing it wrong.

I really hoping my parents will let me take a roadtrip with a few friends to Austin for it next year. It coincides perfectly with my school's spring break.

edit: Is anyone finding any peers for the 2005 torrent?

Wait, what is a pear? I have zero peers. Typo or am I missing something?

Im getting 3 pears, and 1 seed. Strange, a week ago, I'm sure it was more like 20..

:edit: after 10 mins it picked up to 14 pears, and 50kb/s

I'm getting 116 days. No peers and no seeds.

I was able to get the 2006 Showcase, though. I'm still seeding it if anyone's interested.

The more seeds, the more pears.

I just started and I am connected to 37 of 248 seeds with 279 peers. Downloading at 385 kB/s with ETA 2h 30m.

Thanks for the link.

Are you firewalled? Or maybe you have to open up your router's TCP/UDP ports via port forwarding/triggering.

I thought I had done that, but I just checked my router's settings and it "forgot".

It shows port 6881 in the list of ports to forward, but it also shows that forwarding that port isn't enabled. So, I click the checkbox next to enable, save the changes and assume it's now going to work.

But, of course, now it's disabled both that port *and* MSN video chat. So now the little trickle I was getting with these torrents has completely stopped.

Hmmm....not really sure what's going on there. Maybe set your torrent app to use a different port. Pick a random one like 49890 and then enter that in your router. Maybe port 6881 is screwing with MSN chat.

Hey all, I'm still seeding both 2006 and 2007 but I need 2005. Anyone care to start seeding for me? No one seems to be supporting that one right now. Thanks

Thanks. I'm 58.3% done right now. I'm also allowing 150KB/s for the seeding for all of these if anyone is looking.

Transmission hasn't found any peers to seed to yet. Maybe the tracker sucks, or maybe I just have to wait longer.

I need to get in on this. I was using Tomato to download, and my ex clicked the little upper left window X to remove the window...thereby killing the download. Fucking horrible UI design if you ask me.

So it goes.

What's your ex doing on your computer? Or was this the final straw and she just had to go after blowing your precious download?

I'm using Bits On Wheels and I haven't seen you (or any) seeder yet either. I'll go check and update on it. If I still see no one then I'll post the torrent file I used from the SXSW site.

I can never get download speeds over 250. I am sitting at 130 now and yea, I do all that NAT/non default ports thing.

I think comcast is limiting me.

^^ One more quality post from the desk of Ebby. ^^

Here is the torrent file I downloaded from the SXSW site. I still haven't seen any peers/seeders at all. No change on my side either, still 58%.

Same torrent as the one I've been using. I guess the tracker is broken/slow/overloaded.
