Hi everyone
I'm a new apple ibook user who just converted from windows and is never happier, anyways I wanted to know if your suppose to hear the fan in these notebooks or feel heat coming from the vents becasue i'm not. I always remember hearing the fan swith on with my HP laptop and feeling air from the vent. thanks for your time. |

Well, if you're really concerned, download Temperature Monitor and tell us what the readings say.

You'll hear it when it comes on.
But, no, it's not going to come on nearly as much as almost any Windows laptop. Play a 3-D game for a while and you'll probably get the fan to turn on. Or, start up a whole bunch of apps (like, fifteen of them!). |

Under general use, when my PB is plugged in with performance set to "highest" the CPU temp sits around 120 degrees fahrenheit.
I've run my PB with the CPU around 150-160 degrees fahrenheit for extended periods with no problems. I just did a brief stress test and got the GPU up to 180 degrees fahrenheit. I encountered no stability problems or glitches. The quality of this board depends on the quality of the posts.
