I need to send a couple large files, around 1 - 1.5 GB in size, what's the best way to do this? I would like it to be as simple as possible, the files are going to someone w/ limited computer experience.

Thanks

If time is not a major issue, burn a DVD and mail the files?

If not, try yousendit.com

what pilot said OR you can use rapidshare. But for that you will have to split the files as the max upload limit is 300 mb.

I only use Yousendit when I want a file to be available for general download up to 100 times.

Most of the time, if I want to send a single file to just a single person, I use Mailbigfile, if only because the logo has an Aqua effect to it (how shallow, eh! Shame it's in the most disgusting shade of pink/ purple/ puce) and the fact that the upload progress bar actually works in Safari.

Helvetica is my bitch.

I believe Skype has quite a large limit.

Unless you have a really good upstream, I'd suggest mailing a DVD too.

It would take me roughly 30 hours to upload a single 1.5 GB file from by home Internet connection.

Like I said, DVD is a no go, my friend doesn't have a dvd reader... I might just have to go there w/ a physical drive.

Or use the university network, although it would still take forever.
