Now that Tiger has shipped, apple has gone live with it's dashboard showcase:
http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/dashboard/ There is a nice selection of additional widgets already available for download... And the floodgates have only just now been opened. I recently discovered just how easy is to write a widget. Simply by browsing the package contents, i was able to construct my own without reading a single word of documentation. An example was all I needed. I made a local weather radar loop to supplement apple's weather widget. This was complete a mere two minutes after opening a widget's package for the very first time. Then, I spent the rest of the night beautifying the graphics. Now imagine what real/full-time web developers will be able to do without even trying! Well, I'm off to peruse all the new widgets. What are your favorites? Last edited by dfiler : 2005-04-29 at 08:05. |
