no. there will eventually be a cloud background for the native apps, but it won't be separate... the common theme here is that everything works everywhere...

I'm curious what framework Apple is using for the browser version of iWork. Is it all jQuery or something like Backbone.js. Anyone know?

The Macworld guys mentioned that the keynote omitted any mention of team collaboration in iWork, which is likely where Google will continue to beat Apple.
