So I finally went there this past weekend to hang out with a big group of friends who did a weekend vacation to celebrate one of the girls' birthday.

I was only able to stay for 24 hours, and was only able to visit downtown for about 5 hours.

Feels like a model railroad town because it's so small, but has such a rich mix of businesses and restaurants.

Any of y'all up in the Carolinas have additional info about that place?

I'll have to go back sometime when I fewer obligations.

I've been meaning to get down there to visit the second Sierra Nevada brewery, plus it has a very robust beer scene – not that I'm into that scene so much anymore (ciders are where it's at nowadays ). Probably won't make it this summer, but it's a very possible winter trip.

So it goes.

I’m in SC, and I keep hearing that the beer scene is on point, and that the fall season hiking is beautiful, and good get away for mountain biking. YMMV.

My uncle just moved out there. He loves it and recommend me go out there. I don't mind looking there but don't want to move away from the ocean. It is certainly "olde town" out there.

I was highly impressed with the varied topography, and the scale of the city made it feel like a railroad model town that someone had devoted countless hours adding many small touches. It was a very art directed place. It deserved more than a few hours
