Has anyone else started getting their fall classes lined up? I received my schedule today.

Physics Honors
AP Macro Economics/AP Government
AP Computer Science AB
Band
Academic Decathlon
AP French Language
AP English Literature

I was supposed to be in AP Statistics, but they couldn't fit in it my schedule, so I dropped it and pickup up French instead.

So, who's taking what this year?

Yes, I've got my PhD, but I'm contemplating some more degrees... I'm nuts.

Good lord man, I took one AP in high school. Where are you looking to go to college, if you don't mind my asking?

Anyway,

Light load this semester:

- Introduction to Computer Graphic Design
- Introduction to Java Programming

I already know a lot about the material in these courses... but prerequisites are prerequisites.

This is all in addition to an intensive DBT program at Two Brattle institute. DBT works wonders.

Kraetos, just as matter of FYI,

If you really know much about those subjects (e.g. you've taken classes, you've hold jobs doing those stuff) and know more than a sophmore programmer, you can challenge it.

The problem is that it's a one-time-only deal, and you have to pay for it. (It is cheaper, at least in my university, if you successfully pass the challenge, than to take the class. OTOH, if you fail, you're still paying for the class *and* the fee for challenge. If your college is same as mine, challenge usually would use a past class's final test.

Trinity University, if I'm accepted. I plan on applying early decision.

With the APs I took last year (English Lang, CompSci A and U.S. History), I'll already have nine course hours exempted, if I go there. If I score the required score on my exams this year, I'll have *27* hours.

Mine is a bit interesting for a high schooler:

1 - Latin 141 (M,T,W,Th - taken on-campus at Kansas State)
2 - Latin 141
3 - Honors Physics
4 - AP US History
5 - Debate
6 - Adv. Trig and Pre-Calc
7 - Adv. American Lit.

All that plus cross country and a few debate tournaments and I have a hell of a junior year lined up.

I do like how my HS is only a 5 minute bike from Kansas State, so I can commute and fit it into my normal class schedule. College towns are cool that way.

To be honest, this is really kind of a filler semester while I take care of some other shit. See, torifiles comment above. I am also paying a lot less to be just a part time student this semester because of other stuff.

I'll be taking a full course load next semester, complete with you know, challenging courses. I am excited for that.

Please tell me your weighted GPA won't be like 4.8 or anything? I hate schools that weight .1% instead of a reasonable .02% for an AP class. I know a friend whose school does that, and it annoys me to no end.

Senior year, a very light load this semester:

-Designs For Instr-Music Std
-Sch Org/Class Mgmt In Sec Sch
-Choral Ens Literature And Perf
-Chamber Singers
-Men's Chorus
-University Chorus

= 12 hours. Hell, I'd take less if my student loans allowed it. I've never taken less than 16 hours before so I don't know what I'm going to do with all this time on my hands..

Actually, I'll be doing observations during my "free time" so I'll probably be busier than ever this semester.

And then in the Spring, student teaching. eek!

Deal with it.

My weighted GPA, as of last semester, is a 3.5. My district makes AP/PreAP classes worth five points instead of four when calculating GPA. I just *barely* make the top half of my class. I know the fourth person in my class has a 4.66.

Intro Biology
Organic Chemistry
Materials Science I (Last Physics class!!!!!!)
Teaching in the General Chemistry Lab

This semester should be fine, but my last semester before Methods will be a nightmare. I'm looking at 23 credits in the spring, with two classes being Biochemistry and Physical Chemistry.

We got 2 extra points for AP classes and 1 for advanced classes when I was in high school. I graduated with something like a 5.3 GPA or something like that (yes, I was valedictorian).

No classes for me in the Fall.

Full time internship, my last of three that I've done during school. I work from September to March and then go to school until June of 2009 when I graduate.

I can see the light at the end of the tunnel, only two years left.

Wow, that gets annoying. I mean, a 5.3? That isn't a GPA at all! I'll have to mope over my 3.95 I guess...

Paul, you're a bright guy. You'll do just fine.

I have a pretty full load this semester -- 18 hours of classes and 25 hours of work every week. It'll be worth it, though. I'm full-time at my job (for my college) starting in January, and it becomes a permanent position after I graduate. Plus, I only have to take 9 hours in the spring (my last semester), so I'll have plenty of time to relax.

I don't start until next Tuesday, though, so I don't have to go crazy yet. My Mac lab is ready, so I can spend my work time doing basically anything I want until professors start arriving Wednesday and Thursday.

I'm SURE you'll do fine, pscates. Has your work schedule lightened up for the semester, or are you going to be burning the midnight oil?
