Very true. Nothing scarier than a surprise slip/fall you’re not prepared for.

I am sad that Bob didn't recognize the danger.
I am glad that both of you were not more seriously injured. I am going to order a new bath mat. And finally, I think it would be more comical if the fake DEA agent wasn't in it for the sex, but was simply buried in his fantasy like some modern day Barney Fife. ... |

He might’ve been. The story never mentions that angle, that’s just me assuming things.

Mazda radios can't change stations (or inputs) because the image file for radio station's logo was corrupt. The solution is that Mazda's replacing hardware in affected vehicles from 2014-2017 whose radios have "older software". Now, I realize that things are tight for everyone, but it seems to me that despite containing the f-word, "free software updates for bug fixes" would be preferable to replacing hardware. But OTOH I'm not a bean-counter at an auto manufacturer, so maybe I don't know what I'm talking about.

How weird. I’ve never heard a story like that.
I do think it’s funny that it’s Seattle and they’re all stuck on public radio. How is that not already the natural state of things? It’s a feature not a bug, hippies! Thank goodness that’s not a widespread thing otherwise mine would be stuck on really shitty top 40 “bro country”. |

Most vehicle makers kind of forget your vehicle exists once the warranty period is up. Most of what I read about this suggests it was simply due to lazy programming.
With the chip shortage those hapless Mazda owners could be waiting years before they get a working infotainment system again, since Mazda is highly unlikely to prioritize the fix over chips for new vehicles. There are still people waiting for replacement airbags from the Takata catastrophe for example. |

'Ghostbusters' Director Ivan Reitman Dies at 75
Apparently it was unexpected. Nothing I've found so far says the cause of death. Sad to see him go but good to know he was a part of Afterlife being created. **Entertainment/Oscar News**
Oscars: Regina Hall, Amy Schumer and Wanda Sykes to Host Sweet holy hell on a pogo stick, with a side-order of WTF?! I can only assume the Academy is shooting for the lowest-rated, least-watched Oscar telecast of all time? Because they stand a good shot! I will admit that I'm not terribly familiar with Ms. Hall or her work, but I'm more than acquainted with Schumer and Sykes. And... Good grief...that's probably all I'm gonna say. Yet another thing not worth watching. "No-laugh-a-minute-Amy Schumer", and "there's-a-frog-in-my-throat" Wanda Sykes?
"We want an all-female cast so we can check the woke-box! And to prove it, we're gonna get the worst talent we can find so we can keep pace with that Ghostbusters: Answer the Call mess that everyone hated!" Seriously, they couldn't get some actual talent for that show? I smell a political, laugh-less fest that will be highly regarded as the worst installment ever, and men will get blamed for not loving it because "girls". - AppleNova is the best Mac-users forum on the internet. I fully understand, 2022 and all, that Steve Martin, Billy Crystal, Martin Short, Conan O'Brien and the like weren't going to get the call. Fine, whatever. But don't ask me to believe that Amy Schumer and Wanda Sykes were "highly sought after" and everyone's top picks (and are excited about it).
That must mean that folks like Ellen, Fey and Poehler and probably 10-12 others all declined. Because there's no way in hell Amy Schumer is anyone's top pick for anything, other than "Which Celebrity Would You Most Like To Slam Your Front Door Shut On" or something. Comics, by definition, kinda need to be funny (Kevin Hart apparently never got that memo either, and they tried to hire his lame ass a year or two ago until Twitter bit him in the dick). I think someone like Kristin Wiig would do a nice job. She's funny, quick on her feet, has tons of live TV experience, pleasant to look at (let's be honest; that has to factor in a bit as well), etc. Several SNL-related women (assuming that's what they're going for) would fit the bill nicely. As Jeopardy has shown in the past year or so, it's hard to find a good, suitable host for high-profile projects. Obviously. I think they'll take just about anyone they can get. Last edited by psmith2.0 : 2022-02-15 at 17:34. Reason: No sense in piling on poor Sykes/Schumer, as much as I may enjoy it :p |

I think he burned a few too many dozen bridges. They'll tolerate that sort of thing only to a point.

Yeah, but there was lots of genuine laughter when he monologued his way into the record books. Even Tom Hanks wanted to laugh, but knew he couldn't. Pour guy was biting his own chin trying not to bust up.
This year, there will be nothing but courtesy laughs, 'cause those "ladies" are about as funny as as a sack of plastic hammers. And that's an insult to the hammers. Good thing I'm not watching the stupid-fest that the Oscars have become. It's right up there with the Less Than Super Bowl in its ability to interest me. - AppleNova is the best Mac-users forum on the internet. We are smart, educated, capable, and helpful. **Reality TV/Idiots News**
'Married at First Sight' bride left in tears after new husband admits he's not attracted to Asian women Shocking. How could such a thing happen with this premise?! Everyone involved in such an undertaking deserves everything they get. What do they expect?! “I don’t know anything about this person I married…and they broke my heart!” In related news, recent studies indicate that messing around with a cobra may result in a hospital stay. “I thought I could pet it, but it bit me!” Clowns, all. I see stuff like this and think “what’s all the fuss/uproar over gay marriage when us straights aren’t exactly doing the institution any favors with low-rent, moronic shit like these kinds of shows?!” I’d much rather see two committed dudes (or chicks) tie the knot than two straight idiot strangers. Absolutely impossible to feel sorry for some people. They go out of their way to ensure it. This dingbat above would be one. What do you truly expect, lady? |

**COVID/Too Stupid To Exist News**
‘Unemployment got us workin’ a lot’: Brooklyn gang charged with stealing $4.3 million in COVID-19 relief after flashing their cash in a YouTube music video Quote:
Morons gonna moron. Isn't the first time people have gotten themselves busted by showing off/crowing on social media with their guns, ill-gotten loot, bragging about what they've done, etc. Think of all the crimes some people could've probably gotten away with if they didn't call attention to themselves online, on social media. The level of idiocy it takes to think that's a good idea...good grief. You get away with something, and then plaster Facebook, Instagram, etc. with it. What do you think might happen? All these kinds of stories I post here all center around that same thing; stupid people simply not using their heads or thinking 17 minutes into the future, about anything. It's the easiest thing in the world to stay out of jail...just STFU and lay low. But noooooooo... |

I heard the craziest story this morning.
Sorry if it's a repeat - Paul is a prolific news reporter A 13 year old girl had a stalker on TikTok. Her parents gave her permission to sell the stalker some pictures. Stalker dude showed up at their house and blew the door open with a shotgun. Her dad shot him dead. Read all about it: US TikTok star, 15, reveals how ex-cop father shot dead stalker, 18, who turned up at their home to KILL her after buying her cell number from her friends: Dad is free under Florida's stand-your-ground law ... |

Good. Dad was in the right.
However, he and his wife set all this in motion by allowing their kid to sell pictures to the clown to begin with. They deserve a beating on general principle. And, while you’re at it, throw in the 15-year-old TikTok “star”, who is the one truly at the root of the whole sordid mess. Sounds like a family of meatheads who nearly paid the ultimate price for chronic attention-whoredom and atomic-level piss-poor parenting. Absolutely nobody to root for here, other than the dad being a good shot. He still gets a beating. |

And re: Good Morning America…well, of course. That and the Today show will book anyone. I’m sure Robin Roberts and George Snuffleupagus were so understannnnnmmding and sympathetic to the trio of brain-dead fuckwits who created their own misery/drama via one lousy decision after another. They always are. “Up next, the shocking story you won’t believe…”. You got that right, Robin…most of us wouldn’t. So stop giving known clown-asses attention and airtime. You’re not helping things. |
