680 000 pixels. What resolution is that ?

I'm looking at camcorders and I get this information sometimes. How can I know what is the resolution ?

Or do you mean something like 952*714?

Well, the square root of 680000 is 824.6, so it would be 824 pixels square.

This calculator says that, in standard 4:3 ratio, it would be 898 x 673 pixels. So a bit better than SVGA, but not as good as XGA.

Ah...Looks like the calc I linked to doesn't support the second decimal place in Megapixels, so Billy Bobskys 952 x 714 is the correct answer. Still (just) sub-XGA but above SVGA

The equations are fairly simple:

h*l = 680000

l/h=4/3

etc.
