Is the resolution for the last revision 17" display really 1600 x 1024 as this guy says in his listing.

I am just surprised because I thought that was the res. for the 20"

edit: Never mind, this guy did gave the specs for the 20" (the picture is even of the 20", but the one on the right is the 17") --

Yeah, people are stupid.

Those specs are for the 22", by the way. So he's advertising it as a 17" LCD, with the resolution of the 22" Cinema display (1600x1024, not 1680x1050 like the new 20"), and using the picture of the 20" Cinema display.

The 17" is 1280x1024 right?

Hey, we could buy it with any extra money donated to Jack, then sue for false advertising (think psychological trauma from low resolution), and then we'll have a shitload to donate to the aquarium when the settlement check comes!

You ask me for a hamburger.

I sent him a note:

Quote:
I am writing to inform you of the several disturbing mistakes in your recent auction for a 17 inch Apple Cinema Display. You advertised the said display with the specs of the 22" model, and had two pictures; one of the 20" model and one of the 17". Jeepers, indeed.

Charlie Bucket's Grandpa said it best in Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory... "You're a crook... and a swindler."

Of course you won't redeem yourself like Mr. Wonka by giving copious amounts of chocolate and, oh say, the ownership of a factory to a unsuspecting boy, will you?

Think about that.

Regards.

It's a shame you can't stick that in his feedback.

I say it's about even odds that he's actually just really confused about what he has. There are a lot of people who need high-end hardware that don't know crap about computers... graphic designers or something, and they just hire an assistant to take care of all of that stuff for them (among many other things). Maybe he's a scam artist, or maybe he just doesn't know what he has. Either way, I think people are bidding on this assuming it's a 17", because it's easier to mess up a picture than a self-written item title. The 1600x1024 stats were lifted from the official specifications somewhere.

So, the guy has a 17" and that's what he puts. Then he does a Google search for "apple display" and gets the resulting picture and spec listing.
