Does delta update only work on updating iOS (i.e. iOS 5.0 to iOS 5.0.1)? Or does it also work on third-party apps?

Right now it seems to me when updating apps, it downloads the whole apps again. (i.e. 500MB+ Gameloft or EA games)

IIRC, Apple does support delta updates for apps, but that doesn't mean the developer has to release them that way.
