http://www.mac.com/1/affiliates/index.html
http://www.apple.com/itunes/affiliates/
http://www.apple.com/storeassociates/register.html
there may be others but these were the ones I could find easily...

The iTunes one got a bit of press when it was released in the past 6+ months or so and I think AN is already enrolled, but what about the other two? I know there is a long list of things on the "to do" list, but I figured I would throw this out for scrutiny as well... I don't know how the Café Press thing is working out, but I know I haven't bought anything ...

I figure between murbot on the apple store (for edu as well) and gelding in iTunes and they could pay for enough extra bandwidth so the top 100 posters to have 25mb attachment privileges!

Anyway, I'm sure plenty of users would be willing to use a special link when referring a friend (or a poster) to .Mac or when linking to a song on the iTMS for a post... It is something that should be looked into...

I completely agree. I buy a good amount of music from the iTMS and if a few cents from every song can go to AN, then all the better. Just put a locked sticky in the General Discussion board with the URL tags for iTMS / code for .Mac, etc...

Anyone agree / disagree?

Cheers,

Disagree.

I don't think it's a good idea for .org to enter into a business relationship with Apple.

I'm sure the last thing they want is for a nice breach of contract law suit if we get a scoop on the iMac Shuffle.

What I am suggesting are not ads...

I'm thinking more of a few referrer links (hidden in this forum or something) that users would be encouraged to bookmark and/or add to their posts about cool songs on the iTMS or new hardware, with links to the apple store/itms

It would be entirely optional and would be completely transparent to the average user.

We're already an iTunes affiliate with this page.

Do we get many clicks? No, but it's there, at least.

Exactly... its there...
so what about .Mac and the apple store programs linked above?
why not? is the question

also, what is the URL that is analogous to the iTunes badge at AtAT?

And to expand on that... what about amazon.com (.ca, .co.uk, etc.) affiliation?

Edit: ResExcellence has a great example of what could be available here at the bottom of their forums... AGAIN, I'm NOT saying we should have these badges on every page... but maybe a stickied thread in here or as part of a "Welcome to the 2.0 launch of AppleNova" article that would detail all the changes that have been happening around here lately.

bump/test... (and if a mod could re-open this poll with one additional option: "Bad, contracts with Apple could be harmful." it would be great, thanks.)

Found another (QT Pro). And, not to be annoying, but the poll is still closed...
