Any ideas?

I want to make my iBook remotely accessible for when the N800 arrives... I'd prefer something that hides itself in the background and doesn't hog lots of memory while running/dormant.

You ask me for a hamburger.

Apple's built-in VNC server has its glitches (or at least did a while ago; maybe by now, with 10.4.8, things are considerably better). OSXvnc is a decent third-party alternative that also has advanced features such as simultaneous login sessions.

Here's a second recommendation for Vine Server (formerly OSXvnc).

I've used it for years at home, at university, and at work.

I hadn't heard of the name change, but I've been using OSXvnc for years. Never a single problem.

Took a bit of work to get it backgrounding like a daemon the way I wanted (no GUI), but it's really nice, easy, and reliable.
