Just curious why Apple's website doesn't have an optimized mobile version.
On my iPhone 4s it's unusable but I'm constantly pinching and zooming. I know Jobs said during one keynote something to the effect that, with an iPhone you get the full web experience and not some abbreviated version. But we've progressed to the point where responsive page layouts are quite adept at handling various screen sizes. No biggie, but found it odd considering Apple has been such a proponent of HTML5 and CSS. |

Most likely because Apple made an iOS app to take it's place.

Funny. I had this exact same thought and conclusion and post-conclusion thought a few months ago. "That's odd, but it's probably because they made a point about not needing mobile versions in iOS and that they were trailblazing that concept, but since then mobile website design has improved so much that it is often superior than a conventional design..." '
So yeah... probably what you said to the T is my bet. |
