I don't know what's freaking me out more: the above story itself, or the fact that the past 12 months I've come across about 4-5 autowangectomy stories.

What gives?



It isn't facial hair, guys...it doesn't grow back thicker and stiffer. In fact, sadly, it doesn't grow back at all. You'd better be damn sure you've thought it through real good before you commence with the slicing and dicing.



So hard to get my head around (no pun): as a guy, you spend your entire life doing everything you can to protect, preserve and defend your little ambassador of goodwill...knowing there are folks out there capable of doing such a thing to themselves absolutely blows my mind.

I'm genuinely curious about two things: the thought running through one's head the split-second before they do it, and, of course, the one that replaces it the second after they've carried out the deed.

This guy about strikes me as a special kind of asshat. It's one thing to do something like this in the privacy of your own home or whatever; why ruin everyone's dinner and night out by doing it in a restaurant and making such a spectacle about it?
