I've heard a disturbing rumor that in the year 2020 George Lucas will remake the Star Wars Trilogy, with a completaly different story, because he wishes he waited with them, untill there were more effects. Does anyone else know anything about this?

Does this come from the same site that has the "official" scripts too?

No, a friend from camp told me recently, during a conversation about Revenge of the Sith.

Ah yes the 'friend from camp'. He's almost as reliable as the 'drunken Apple employee at an undisclosed Cupertino bar'.

This isn't fair. Whatever I bring up is false. My friend told me that he heard this rumor. What's wrong with talking about it?

Dude. Lucas will be lucky if he is alive in 2020...

That much puts an end to your rumour mongering...

Yes, you're right, everyting you bring up is false, or mostly false.

I think we'd get roughly the same responses no matter who posted this.

Agreed. Any "my friend said" stories are all going to be met with the strongest of criticism all around. It's just silly to believe that some random little kid really knows some big secret like this and that you guys are the only ones who manage to know it.

Try talking out of something other than your ass if you want even a sliver of credibility on this site. It's one thing if your friend works at ILM, for LucasArts, or on Skywalker Ranch, but 'a friend from camp' will get you, well, pretty much the responses above.

Yeah. Lucas was born in 1944. In 2020 he'll be 76 years old and hardly in condition to be making movies.

And on that note, let us know when you're ready to start threads with a bit more substance than

"This one time, in band camp, this kid told me about STAR WARS"

Personally, I hope that they go into the Special editions again in a couple years and redo all the additional CG they added. Lucas has made it quite clear that we won't be seeing the original original versions again, so the least they could do is spruce up the CG to more modern standards that don't detract from the movie all that much.

They did it a little with the latest DVD releases, but they could stand to go back in and really revamp the stuff.

as for remaking the whole series... yowch, that'd be too much to bear, I'll consult with a friend of mine he's the biggest star wars nerd I know, and he's really big into the spoiler/rumor circuit, so he might know something more about this.
