Apple Insider reports that an Apple TV plug-in is arriving soon, which plays YouTube movies in a very elegant way. It adds a new YouTube menu in which you can select sets like this week's favorites, or this month's most discussed videos.
A demo can be found on, of course, YouTube. Personally, I had no idea that plug-ins for Apple TV were available at all, but some you can at least find here. Now *this* is, in my opinion, the kind of things that would make Apple TV very interesting. Already, me and my 2 year old daughter watch YouTube a lot more than we watch broadcast tv, simply because you can watch the movies you like over and over, and easily find new content. For free. It would be cool though if you could do more to personalize the YouTube menu, maybe with pre-defined search results, or a set consisting of videos in your own YouTube channel. But that would make the interface pretty complex if it all had to happen inside Apple TV. So this would require some specific software on the Mac/PC (iTunes?) side. I wonder what this could be like and who could/would build it... If Apple did it, they could make it "iPhone-able" at the same time... |

Hey, don't knock 320x240 video. If it's good enough for Apple to sell on iTunes, it's damn good enough for your Apple TV and HDTV setup!

On contrary, if you consider the supply and demand- when price is zero and supply is indefinite, you get a division by zero.

HA!
And what's new is that you can log in. Makes me wonder how that works and what it offers, exactly. What will your own channel look like? And a good search function *somehow*, still would be very nice. (btw what does this thread still do in the speculation forum? ) |
