My Dad just bought a time share for a boat (like him and 4 other people use it) and we are trying to find good Mac GPS software. We bought a USB GPS receiver. I surfed the internet for a while looking for decent software, but was greeted with crappy interfaces and high prices.
Does anyone have a recommendation for GPS software? Logic, logic, logic. Logic is the beginning of wisdom, Valeris, not the end. Last edited by Kraetos : 2009-07-04 at 01:16. |

A map and compass. And bring someone who can make a coconut radio in case a storm leaves you shipwrecked.

Yeah, +1 on getting a dedicated marine GPS. I would say getting a Loran would be fine with charts, etc, but they are talking about taking Loran down. So a marine GPS+charts is a good deal( if you think you can survive on just the GPS, good luck ). We just got a GPS system for my families Island Packet and it rocks. Although according to the map, it dates back to 1995..... A new GPS system uses 14 year old maps of the depth of the water.......

The one on the boat is good for when we're on the boat, but my Dad was looking for one on his computer so he could plan trips from home.
