Hi All,
So, I have a MBP Core Duo. I'm having the screen buzz/ high pitch sound problem. I heard that Apple needs to replace the logic board in these. If I send it in to AppleCare, what's the chance I'll wind up with getting a Core2Duo back??? -Chantman |

I've heard that there is an unwritten rule that if something major breaks three times, you get a new laptop.
A friend of mine had 3 major issues with his CD MBP, and with the 3rd break he was sent a MBP 2.33 ghz C2D with 2 gigs of ram (an upgrade). If this is the first issue, you'll probably be getting back a Core Duo. I'd be happy with that though (iBook here, C2D iMac at home). I've got the same problem, and no Apple Care.
Any idea of how much this would cost to fix? |
